Mike, Church!

My son Joel, made an interesting comment this past week, after not attending our gathering for the past week he came up to me and said two things, "Mike, Church"! Our gathering is at Mike's house and to him it was Church. What struck me was here I as his dad and mentor have already miss communicated to him the purpose of the gathering. He is two now, and to him he equates Mike's house to Church, because that's what i have said to him, "come Joel, we going to church at Mike's house". Catching myself, yet again that no, we are the Church, gathering at what happens to be Mike's house. An interesting lesson for me from my two year old son. I hope that from now on i will be diligent at communicating to him as his mentor, that we are the church, which happens to gather at a location.

Writing from the heart

I have been blogging/typading for over six months now and I have come to a conclusion: if I don’t have anything to say then, well just don’t say anything! I appreciate the people who come to this website and it is my hopes that as I continue this journey and begin to learn new things I would share them here on this web page as a journal of that journey. It is my hope that as God allows me to connect with people and resources that I would reflect it here on this tablet.

Dear International Prayer Council,
I would like to inform and ask for fervent intercessions to be lifted up for America in these next 30 days going into the US presidential elections. There have been significant prayer initiatives started in response to the urgency of the coming elections in America & major ministries from all over the US are uniting together to mobilize prayer for our nations government at this crucial hour. I am asking that other nations join America in prayer by asking God to raise up righteous leaders in the elections & for another great awakening to come to this great nation. Below are a summary of the major prayer movements in the USA uniting together to pray for America.

In Colorado Springs Pastor Lou Engle (founder of The Call) gathered hundreds of young adults from almost all 50 states to intercede night and day for the government of America. Each young adult was required to intercede 8 hours a day on the issues of (presidential elections, each 50 state, supreme-court justices, national government, justice & mercy issues, abortion, homosexual marriage, racism, university and campus revival, etc) daily. We are now praying on bus through each swing state rallying churches to vote and pray for coming elections.

Birthed out of the 50 days of prayer is a grassroots movement to mobilize every Christian young adult to register to vote and covenant to pray for the presidential elections. Already, we have mobilized major Christian ministries on college campuses nationwide to start 1 Timothy 2 prayer meetings on campuses while registering Christian young adults to vote according to Biblical convictions. Students on universities all over the states are praying together for God to raise up righteous leaders and to turn America back to God.

40 Days USA & America for Jesus: www.americaforjesus.org)
An organization called 40 Days USA birthed out of the World Prayer Summit in Washington D.C. has networked literally almost every major intercessory ministry in the USA to pray and fast 40 days into the presidential elections Nov 2, 2004. We are currently working close with them to mobilize an estimated 5 million+ intercessors in the US to commit to pray for the US government and elections. Also, another prayer initiative America for Jesus is estimated to potentially be the largest national prayer gathering in US history to be held at the D.C. Mall Oct 22, 2004. Bishop Jiminez (Washington for Jesus), Bill Mcartney (Stand in the Gap PK), Che Ahn and Lou Engle (The Call) are all endorsing this repentance and prayer gathering. I just got back from the World Prayer Center with national prayer directors from different US states (including Bill Mcartney & Lou Engle) sharing how prophetically it seems the hearts of the fathers are turning towards the children and the children to the fathers as Christian families all over the US will be gathering on the Washington DC mall to pray, fast, worship and ask God to turn America back to Jesus.

Worldwide Day of Prayer:
Lastly, through all these prayer ministries uniting together to pray for the US elections we have connected with Transformation Africa and Jericho Walls Intl in South Africa to help mobilize the US to prayer for the worldwide day of prayer May 15, 2005.

I ask that other nations would link arms in prayer with America in this crucial hour asking God to raise up righteousness and justice in the government and supreme court justices to secure a hopeful future for this nation.

ANNOUNCING THE 50 DAY GOVERNMENTAL HOUSE OF PRAYER IN COLORADO SPRINGS
1 Tim 2:1 makes it clear that praying for government and civic leaders is an important priority. This summer, a House of Prayer dedicated to praying for our nation and its leadership and the upcoming elections.

LOU ENGLE: 120 NAZIRITES

We believe God is calling for 120 YOUNG NAZIRITES to come to Colorado Springs for 50 days of day and night worship and intercession. We're inviting thousands more to join them from July 10 to August 28, 2004.

This will be no easy walk in the park. It will be intense. Each student will be expected to give eight hours a day or night... Many will go on extended fasts. The night watches will be as important as the day battles.

I am asking for worship teams that can carry the fire of worship. There will be two-hour shifts for devotion and spiritual refreshing. Then we will follow the Lord again into the battle for the elections, for the courts of our nation and the overturning of Roe v. Wade, for a great youth awakening, for peace and stability in Iraq and for a powerful move of the Holy Spirit in the homosexual communities of America...THE CAUSE USA

The Cause USA (www.TheCauseUSA.com) is a prayer initiative to urgently mobilize nationwide prayer and fasting for America. Though The Call offices have officially closed since January 2004, the need to fast and pray for our nation is greater than ever! In the four short years since The Call DC, America has endured the horrors of 9/11 and fought two wars that continue to claim lives.

Austin "Greenhouse"

This past weekend (25th to the 27th) I had the privilege to attend a “Greenhouse” in Austin Texas. Neil Cole together with Paul Kaak shared their hearts passionately about Organic Church. I don’t consider myself to be a writer so the words here would do injustice to the quality and excellence of how the weekend went, all I can say is that these guys do this continually, yet the very things they teach still burn passionately within there hearts as evidenced by the way in which they communicate the message of the “Greenhouse”.

Things I came away with:
Keep it simple,
“Open war is upon us whether we would risk it or not” Throughout the weekend one of the fun things for me was to see how they incorporated movie clips to illustrate a point or a subject, for me the visual message together with the sincerity and passion that the message was conveyed made the weekend very impact full.

It’s not so much what I do for God, but what God wants and desires to do in me that will bring lasting fruit.

The whole analogy of the Garden, Organic, the stories through the Bible that relate to some form of organic thinking, the plough the seeds and on and on the list goes on. It amazes me still that God would use the analogies of the natural things to share his spiritual treasures as highlighted by the Greenhouse.

“Where two or more are gathered in My Name there I am in the midst of them” The LTG’s Life transformation groups as prescribed this weekend, so simple and very reproducible.

On a Personal Note
Earlier this month, I found myself reading Luke 10, it seemed to me that must of happened before Luke 10 which got me reading prior chapters, this got me thinking that, God was asking me, to ask of him, these two things;

Pray for a passion for the Lost
And that He would give me, (as he gave His Disciples in Luke 10) Power to heal the sick cast out demons and raise the Dead.

Some would think that a bit presumptuous of me but really this is the desire now of my heart to not only beseech the Lord of the Harvest to send Laborers (luke10:2b) But that It really was a call for me to as we say in Afrikaans (Kry Rigting), for some time now I have been sensing a deeper call to plug into the things God has for me, not that I am sure what that looks like or how it will all pan out, but there is a clear sense that God is about to do something in me unlike I have ever seen or experienced before. This past weekend at the Greenhouse was just a confirmation of this very thought that God is about to do something new, and that in this time I am to truly seek him.

There are so many prayer requests and needs, but I know you have a plate full of things already to pray for. Might we ask you to pray daily for just ONE thing?

Pray 10-2B. In our high tech day and age it seems everything gets a number/letter designation, so why not prayer? 10-2B is, of course, Luke 10:2b where Jesus commands us to "PRAY THE LORD OF THE HARVEST TO SEND OUT LABORERS INTO HIS HARVEST..." This is our one petition.

On May 1st we began encouraging all of the house churches to pray 10-2B daily. In May alone there were more than 30 new works begun. We ask you to join us in petitioning the Father for something He has not only commanded us to pray for, but indeed WANTS TO ANSWER and IS ANSWERING!

Annual Team Meeting

June brings with it the privilege of meeting with the Dawn Co-ordinators, a time of refection, fellowship and further envisioning. What makes this time special is that it becomes an opportunity to further develop and cultivate relationship with the team that lives on 4 continents

The wisdom, the wealth of experience and knowledge that is represented in this group of God fearing men humbles me, as I continue to learn and grow in this journey.

Please pray that God will do what He wills in the meetings we have.

I recently visited with some new friends at All about God.com here in Colorado Springs. God is truly using them in a unique way in helping people find relationship with the one true living God. The long and the short of it is they research the Internet search engines and find out key words that people are imputing that may be a key that would lead them on a journey towards the cross. So say Mr X was looking for something on Buda, Angels, Darwin or any number of subjects, they have masterfully created web sites some 260 plus and counting that they write in such a way that the seeker will find their site listed as the top choice in the search engine that gives the seeker the information that they are looking for as well as give them an opportunity to go on a journey that ultimately leads them to the Cross.
